Cats laughing as cork focus on football

There's no doubt about it the Cats are in a different class. Hard to see either Tipp or Waterford living with them in the All Ireland Final now. The hurling showpiece was the highlight of the triple bill at headquarters at the weekend. In fairness to the Rock he delivered a big match performance but it seemed to be up front that Cork struggled to make a big impact, and their experience in attack contrasted sharply with the apparant ease by which scores came to Kilkenny. Plenty late nights will be required by either Davy Fitz or Liam Sheedy to fashion a winning final gameplan depending on who makes it through the second semi final at the weekend. That's not too clearcut either! At least Cork fans will have another day out this summer following their footballers, even though they survived a late Kildare rally. Why didn't John Doyle take the first penalty? It could have been oh so different late on and Kildare will look to build on a creditable finish next season. The Kilkenny fans quite subdued afterwards it seemed, then again they've been down this road several times before in the recent past so it probably seems like an annual routine at this stage!
