Will Ger stay or go?
The Galway GAA County board are set to meet Ger Loughnane in the coming days to iron out exactly when the Clare man's Liam McCarthy winning strategy is due to kick in. There seems to have been further uncertainly in the team about their formation and shape this season. Some counties are battling with complacency but several of the Galway stars didn't even know where they would play not to mind start. Has the game moved on to such an extent from 1997 that even Ger's methods are now outdated by the new models fashioned by Kilkenny and Cork? Would Mattie Murphy and Noel Lane do any better? And will it be long before they get their chance? Watch this space.
