Hard to credit

Just when everyone hoped there would be closure on the story that has been making headlines all summer comes the news, that "procedural irregularities" will prolong the anguish both for Paul Galvin and those fed up of hearing about it. In fairness to Galvin, an amateur player, who has apologised publicly for his actions in the Munster Senior Football Championship clash with Clare, the lad must be going off his head at this stage. Just when it seemed the matter might be resolved comes the news that it's back to square one. No one argues with the GAA's bid to clamp down on indiscipline but consistency in rulings and getting the procedures themselves right seem to be basics. Also just to pour some futher oil on the fire, while snapping the notebook out of the ref's hands in any code is not to be condoned, has there been any proper probe into the incidents leading up to Galvin blowing his top?

Its hard to believe the GAA cannot decide what to do with Paul Galvin. The whole saga has gone on far too long, and only now do they find "irregularities". If it was Rugby or Soccer, it would have been sorted a month ago, but the GAA have to drag their heels. I actually feel a bit sorry for Galvin, not knowing if his summer is over or not. Thats hard for me to admit, bearing in mind I'm a true blue Dub!

this story has run it's course for to long. are the gaa themselve's doing this to get galvin off the charge on an irregularity, but being seen to drag it out so that they cover themselves from a backlash by the referee's. what galvin did was wrong and deserved a penalty of half the original one, and even the penalty should only have affected intercounty games. what good is it in an amateur association to stop people playing for their club's after an intercounty offence? are we trying to keep players or lose them.i doubt after all this mess now that galvin will serve any penalty because he will probaly have misssed 2 games by the time it is sorted. it's not good enough as the more you watch the incident the worse it looks, and if he does get away with it watch out for a backlash from our already pi**ed off officials. get your house in order mr brennan cos this whole episode smell's of shi*e at this stage.
